If you think about getting good at cooking or baking, the first thing to do is start with comfort food. It just makes a person feel good to bite in warm food that’s made with love with the heart beaming on the inside out.  So, for starters, anyone for some cookies?

1 Cup Butter, Softened

1/2 Cup White Sugar

1/2 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

3 teaspoon vanilla

3 Cups Uncooked Oat

1-3/4 Cup Flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2  Cup chocolate chips

1 Cup Walnuts (Optional)

Heat oven to 350. Beat softened butter and sugars until fluffy.  Add the eggs, vanilla and mix in the chocolate chips.  Mix the dry ingredients. Place small tablespoon balls of dough on un-greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 13 minutes. Store in a sealed container to keep their freshness.  Make a batch of 12 and freeze the rest in a sealed container.
